At Celebrity, as we strive to make every one of our guests feel welcome, we value the importance of diversity among all our guests and crew. That's why we've been awarded LGBTQ+ Friendly Travel Company of the year for 2016 at the TTG Travel Awards, and we've won the title of Best Large Ship Cruise Line for LGBTQ+ Passengers at the Cruizie Awards for four years running.
Not only that, but we are proud to announce that as of 2017 same-sex marriages performed onboard our ships by the Captain are legally recognized. Whether you join us onboard for a vacation, your honeymoon, or even your wedding, you'll see why we're the best cruise line for gay, lesbian and all LGBTQ+ guests.

Celebrity Cruises is proud to offer legal same-sex marriages on board. The motion follows a transformative vote in Malta, where a majority of the Celebrity fleet is registered, which passed the country’s parliament 66-1. The long-awaited referendum opens the door for Celebrity to legally recognize same-sex marriages performed on board, and have the fleet’s captains officiate the ceremonies.
In a historic ceremony hosted on board Celebrity Equinox ℠ in January 2018, Francisco Vargas and Benjamin Gray became the first same-sex couple ever to be legally married at sea on a major cruise line.
Our popular LGBTQ+ Welcome Parties are open to all guests fleetwide and take place on the first night of almost every cruise. This event is a great ice breaker and opportunity for people to meet. In addition to the Welcome Party, Celebrity also hosts various LGBTQ+ events and social hours onboard.
Tie The Knot is a nonprofit organization founded by Modern Family's Jesse Tyler Ferguson and his husband, Justin Mikita. Through the sale of their limited-edition bow ties and fashion accessories, Tie The Knot has raised over $1,000,000 to support LGBTQ equality and human rights initiatives around the globe. Celebrity first partnered with Tie The Knot in June 2017 when Justin Mikita served as the ambassador for Celebrity’s first Pride Party at Sea. Later that year, Celebrity proudly sponsored Tie The Knot’s 5-year anniversary party. At the event, Tie The Knot donated $50,000 to the Human Rights Campaign, the largest LGBTQ organization in the nation.
Celebrity has been the presenting sponsor for Miami Beach Pride three years in a row. This year, we have over 250+ employees march in the 2019 Pride parade.
